Author Guidelines
Welcome to the SPIN-Learning author guidelines for professional blogging. Please take a moment and review each topic carefully.
SPIN-Learning is a nursing education solutions company dedicated to promoting nursing program success through student retention and NCLEX success. A platform for blogging is available to professionals who are intricately involved in nursing academia. We believe nurse educators can sharpen one another through knowledge, skills, and experience, and professional blogging provides written amplification of each author’s expertise.
Blog Distribution
Blog distribution includes media sites such as the SPIN-Learning website, SPIN-Learning app, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Topics
Topics chosen for blogs include those relevant to nursing academia for classroom instruction, clinical practice, and leadership. In addition, the topic must be original work and cannot be previously published or under consideration for being published.
Ethical Principles
Ethical principles must be adhered to as stated in the Committee on Publication Ethics: https://publicationethics.org/getting-started/what-publication-ethics
Conflicts of Interest
Conflicts of interest must be disclosed in writing and forwarded to questions@spin-learning.com
Blog Length
Blog length follows the 3:5 rule. Three to five paragraphs with three to five sentences per paragraph.
Writing Tips

Topics should be current and relevant.

Clear and concise writing style.

Consider using a blog template.

Use active verbs to engage the reader.

Use Microsoft Word for submission.

Allow a trusted peer to review before submission.

Be open to suggestions.
References
References should be published within the last 5 years using the most current information on the chosen topic. A minimum of 1 reference is required, and up to 3 supporting references can be submitted.
Submission Requirements

Submit a query form and await approval for the proposed topic. Instructions for submission are located on the query form.

Once the topic is approved, the blog can be submitted to questions@spin-learning.com or a direct contact at SPIN-Learning may be provided. Please include your initials and the date of submission on the top right of the first page. A peer-review process will be followed, and a SPIN-Learning representative will contact you regarding blog acceptance, the need for revisions, or rejection. If your blog is accepted for publication, an editorial process will be followed with an opportunity for final reading prior to publication.
